The girls all have a variety of disabilities, from extremely poor eyesight to deafness. Working with various charities and companies across the Midlands, the girls have been provided with laptops, magnifying glasses, and torches to help them with reading and writing. School uniforms made in The Gambia ensure that other local trades and skills, such as tailors and badge makers, are employed, fostering a great sense of community and awareness of the girls plythe.
It is important to Diana, the founder of Your Smalls Appeal, that the provision of clean knickers, recycled bras, and sanitary pads be on sight for the girls to access at any time. It was even more important to her that the sanitary pads were reusable; this would ensure the girls not only had something to use for years to come, but the pads weren’t added to local landfill sites.
